If you thought several mass shootings and countless gun deaths would be reason enough to change, you’d be wrong.

Gun sellers enjoyed outrageous business on Black Friday, requesting more than 200,000 background checks for weapons on Friday.

That outperforms the previous record of 185,000 on Black Friday in 2016.

Handguns from Glock and Smith & Wesson’s M&P line appeared to be among the most popular, according to SharpShootersUSA president Tom Deets.

He said: ‘Our Black Friday was very good indeed.’

There have been a number of mass shootings across America this year. That could be — in part — contributing to this increase in gun sales.

Weapon sales usually experience some sort of rise in the aftermath of these incidents as pro-gun people fear it will spark new legislation tightening gun control laws.

This pattern was seen in the wake of the Las Vegas shootings.

Many rushed out to buy bump stocks — a gun modification that turns a semi-automatic into an automatic weapon by firing more rounds. Entire magazines can be emptied with one squeeze of the trigger.

Stephen Paddock used the device to unload as many bullets into the crowd at Route 91 Harvest Festival as possible.

Back in October, Bump Fire Systems said on its Facebook page its website is struggling to cope with the high demand.

A spokesperson wrote: ‘Currently our servers are down due to high traffic volume. Please be patient, our IT dept is currently working on the issues as fast as possible.’
