ICYMI, Bancroft is the hottest new crime drama of the minute, with our reviewer calling it ‘bloody good’ and likening it to Line Of Duty.

Sarah Parish of Broadchurch fame stars as a female detective with dark secrets in her past. Sounds very Happy Valley to us, wouldn’t you agree?

Well the new four-part ITV drama started on Monday night, but some viewers were forced to watch the show with subtitles because of ‘excessive mumbling’ and ‘poor sound quality’.

Not the best start to the series…

Telling the story of policewoman DCI Elizabeth ‘Ella’ Bancroft, it focuses on her obsessive desire to become Detective Chief Superintendent.

The plot revolves around the Kamara family, who are headed by Athif Kamara, as the police try to catch them out on illegal arms dealing.

ITV confirmed this week that drama Hatton Garden has been postponed in order to air Bancroft in the slot.

Now, Hatton Garden will air in 2018.

Bancroft continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
