This is the horrific moment a herd of deer dart across a busy motorway and jump off a bridge to their deaths.
Catherine Veerhusen was with her husband driving along US Highway 30 in Cedar Rapids on Sunday when she spotted the deer standing on the opposite side of the 80th Street SW bridge.
Footage taken by her shows a buck bolting across the road and then leaping over the side of the bridge, hitting the ground below.

Ms Veerhusen can be heard gasping as the animals disappear from view.
Along with the video clip, she also shared an image of the deer right before the jump and a graphic photo of the animals on the ground below.
She told the Des Moines Register: ‘I’ve never seen anything like this. No words, no words.’
‘We see these deer cross the ramp in front of us and we’re like, “OK, don’t go over the bridge”. They went straight for the bridge.’
‘I stood there – I was just in shock. I’ve never seen them spooked like that.’
Another motorist, who is a deer hunter, was behind the Veerhusens when the deer bolted across the road.
Denny Benyshek told the newspaper: ‘We were driving slow by then. The buck was leading the whole time – then he just bolts straight east. The three doe follow him over.’
It is believed the deer were unfamiliar with the area because the bridge is fairly new, having only opened in October.
