Emmerdale spoilers: Adam Barton’s fate is revealed as his exit storyline looms tonight

It’s crunch time for Adam Barton in a special hour long edition of Emmerdale tonight as he heads to court to discover his sentence – but will he be going down for a long time or can Moira Dingle convince the judge that she is the one who killed Emma, not her son.

Adam has been taking the rap to protect his mum and as a consequence of his convincing performance, the police didn’t believe Moira’s confession. But this time she is determined to get the message across that Adam is innocent and has only been covering for her and when Harriet Finch picks up on her demeanour as she says goodbye to Isaac, she clocks what Moira is planning.

But will Harriet warn Cain that Moira may be about to hand herself in – and can he do anything to stop her from putting herself in the firing line? Meanwhile, as the court gathers, Adam waits in the prison van, wondering what fate has in store for him.

Knowing that he could be going down for a life sentence, will he crack and change his mind? Or will he stand firm and accept a punishment for a crime that he didn’t commit?

It remains to be seen what happens but fans know that Adam Thomas’ final Emmerdale scenes are set to air, with him having finished filming some time ago.
