It’s time for fans to get a closer look at the wild world of Lara Croft. In an exclusive new trailer for the upcoming film Tomb Raider, watch as Croft (played by Oscar winner Alicia Vikander) explores her origins, sharpens her fighting skills, and admits that she’s been having hallucinations of her missing father, Lord Richard Croft (Dominic West). “I think I’m going mad,” she confesses at one point.

The film picks up with 21-year-old Croft about seven years after the disappearance of her father. Though she has the option to pick up where he left off and run his affluent company, she prefers instead to take college classes and work as a bike courier. However, the visions of her father spark her latest adventure: Lara discovers a video he left behind, instructing her to stop a dark organization called Trinity. And just like that, she’s off, joined in her quest by a reluctant ally named Lu Ren (Daniel Wu). Trinity is, of course, conveniently located right in the middle of something called the “Devil’s Sea.” Though the trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the sinister group, we can guess that it’s run by the villainous Mathias Vogel, played by Walton Goggins.

This exclusive new look at the film also offers up ample footage of Croft doing what she does best: leaping from extraordinary heights and beating up a bunch of guys. She beats guys up with a bow and arrow, with a makeshift hook, and with her fists—the old-fashioned way! Croft is, as Vikander previously told Vanity Fair, “a model for many young women.”

“She’s trying to carve out her place in the world and connect her future with her past,” she continued. “She also has a fantastic mix of traits—tough, smart, vulnerable, plus she’s kick-ass!”

What more could you ask for, really? Tomb Raider, directed by Roar Uthaug, hits theaters on March 16.
