It seems that Iain Lee hasn’t got that many regrets since leaving the ‘horrendous and amazing’ I’m A Celebrity jungle at the end of last year.

Viewers will remember how the former 11 O’Clock show host struggled through the intense reality competition, which sees a group of celebs dropped into the Australian jungle to fend for themselves away from the luxury of their celebrity lifestyles.

Fans will also remember THAT strawberry-based incident: the ‘scandal’ in which Iain and Amir Khan lied to their campmates about losing a task, so they could feast on their prize – a punnet of strawberries and cream – all to themselves.

Iain appeared on Sunday Brunch this week where he filled in hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy about how life had changed for him post-I’m A Celeb.

‘It was horrendous and amazing and nothing in between,’ Iain told the show with a smile, much more relaxed in demeanour – a world away from the pressures of the jungle camp.

He went on to talk about how life changed for him since leaving the ITV show – and how it spurned on his return to TV work, some 15 years after he joined talk radio.

‘Things have been amazing. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of reality TV and I have always loved live TV,’ he said, as he hinted at a ramp up in TV offers since he left the jungle.

‘It’s been crazy. I found myself on Loose Women – I love that show – and I had to slide down a chimney and pour cream all over Joey Essex’s head.

‘This is my life now!’

Conversation swiftly turned to Strawberrygate, where Iain revealed he isn’t bothered about his betrayal.

‘Me and Amir were talking for about 40 minutes about whether to eat the strawberries. And he kept goading me saying “Are you sure? Are you sure?”‘ Iain said.

‘I didn’t expect quite the fallout that I received from it. People didn’t speak to me for like four days.’

But, when Tim asked Iain about his regrets and what he had learned from the incident, the cheeky presenter said: ‘My advice is if you can steal strawberries off your friends then do it.’

And it seems some fans of Sunday Brunch are still not forgiving of Iain and Amir’s betrayal.

‘@iainlee I voted to keep you in @imacelebrity because you obviously wanted to get out not because I thought you popular/funny,’ wrote one disgruntled viewer.
