Meghan Markle jumped head-first into the Scottish spirit of things by wearing a tartan coat for her first official visit to Edinburgh.
The 36-year-old former Suits actress joined her groom-to-be Prince Harry as they made their first outing as a couple to the Scottish capital on Tuesday.
Meghan stood out in the green and navy tartan coat and the good news is – you can still buy it online now!
Here’s a roundup of what Meghan wore in Edinburgh…
The coat
Meghan opted for a £1,995 Burberry coat to keep the Scottish chill out. The double-breasted navy and green tartan wool and cashmere-blend coat is part of Christoper Bailey’s runway collection.
It’s still available to buy online – but hurry, because sizes are limited. If you can’t find your size on the Burberry website, check out both the UK Net-A-Porter site and the US Net-A-Porter site, as both show varying UK sizes available.
The trousers
Meghan’s trousers are by Veronica Beard. It looks like she was wearing the designer’s Shore Sailor Wide-Leg Pants in black, which she’s been seen in before. Sadly, they’re sold out so you’ll have to make do with tracking down a replica.
The bag
Just as she did during her Nottingham engagement, Meghan chose a Strathberry handbag for her Edinburgh trip. The time she went for the brand’s East/West Mini bag in Bottle Green colour, which is priced at around £395. It’s not currently available to buy but you can pre-order.
The top
Again, just like her Nottingham trip, Meghan wore a black turtleneck top by Wolford. It’s sold out online sadly but a black turtleneck should be fairly easy to emulate.
In fact, it seems Meghan’s outfit went down so well with some of her fans, she was showered in red roses ahead of Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
Meghan played the dutiful royal bride to be during their visit, happily meeting fans and posing for photos.
She was showered with gifts from doting well-wishers, showing a keen interest in the thoughtful presents as she made her way along the crowds.
She was even gifted with a number of red roses – thought we’re not too sure what Harry would have had to say to her admirers.
They first visited Edinburgh Castle for a walkabout where they were greeted by the Scotland Band of the Royal Marines, of which Prince Harry is Colonel-in-Chief.
Lord Lieutenant Frank Ross joined them on their visit to Edinburgh Castle just in time for the firing of the One O’Clock Gun.
Next, they will head to cafe Social Bite, a cafe which employs homeless people. There, they will meet its founder, Josh Littlejohn to discuss his scheme.
Then, they will head to a reception at the Palace Of Holyroodhouse to celebrate youth achievement, marking the Scottish Year of Young People.
Social Bite has a history attracting famous faces and while royalty is visiting today, they’ve previously enticed Hollywood royalty to pop by.
Both George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio have visited the cafe in the past, learning more about what they do and how they can help feed the homeless.
Speaking ahead of the royal couple’s Edinburgh visit, Ross said: ‘All eyes will be on Edinburgh as Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle carry out their first official engagement north of the border. I am delighted that they have chosen Edinburgh for their visit and no matter the weather, I am sure citizens will provide them with the warmest of Scottish welcomes.
‘This is a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse of the couple ahead of their wedding in May, and of course, to wish them a happy first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple. What better city to visit at this time of year than Edinburgh? But the visit is also a fantastic opportunity for us to promote the history and breath-taking views of the city’s ancient Castle, highlight the inspiring work being undertaken by Josh Littlejohn and his fantastic team at Social Bite, and celebrate Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.
‘As Lord Lieutenant, part of my role is to welcome members of the Royal Family to our Capital City and I’m particularly pleased that this visit falls during the school holidays, allowing people of all ages the opportunity to be part of it.
