A 13 year-old boy was suspended from his school for drawing pictures of stick figures bearing guns and knives.

His father James Herring hit out at Roseboro Salemburg Middle School after his seventh-grader boy, who he did not want to name, was axed from school for two days over the drawings.

One of the photos shows a teenage mutana ninja turtle bearing a knife, while another shows a stickman pointing a rifle.

A third shows a magician, while a fourth shows a man wearing a hat and carrying a dagger.

James, from Roseboro, N.C. says the drawings were inspired by he and his sons hunting trips, and added that both are well-versed in firearm safety.

James added that the drawings were done before the Parkland school massacre on February 14, and says his son is not violent, nor does he have any emotional issues.
