Welsh drama Hidden is heading to the U.S. after Acorn TV struck a deal with All3Media International to pick up the eight-part series. The drama, which is produced by Severn Screen for S4C and BBC Wales, stars Hinterland and Requiems Sian Reese-William as DCI Cadi John, as she is drawn back to her childhood home by the faltering health of her beloved father, and finds herself policing the precinct and people of her youth including the search for the killer of a local woman is found in a remote mountain river.The series will air on the SVOD service in July. It has also been picked up by international broadcasters including DR (Denmark), KRO (Netherlands) and VRT (Belgium). All3Media International boss Louise Pedersen said, “We knew that the pedigree of the team behind Hidden would result in a very distinctive series – Welsh Noir is now on the international map.”

Federation Entertainment, the French producer and distributor behind series including Netflixs Marseille and Amazons The Collection, has struck a major financing deal with Sebastien Raybauds Anton. The move will see Anton, which has previously struck similar deals to finance the slates of Studiocanal and BBC Studios, help Pascal Bretons firm bolster its production and distribution activities. Anton will co-fund Federations acquisitions on the distribution side in drama and animation across both English-language series and French projects. It will have the option to co-finance its production slate. Federation is currently in production on season two of Scandinavian crime thriller Bordertown and season four of French spy thriller The Bureau.

Wiley, the British musician widely considered the “godfather of Grime” is to get the big-screen treatment with a film directed by Trespass Against Us director Adam Smith. The film is produced as part of a deal between Shut Up and Play The Hits producer Pulse Films and music firm BMG. The film will chronicle his early days as a struggling MC and producer on London pirate radio to making a worldwide name for himself as a figure reimagining UK music and ushering in a new generation of talent. Wiley will be penned by Sabrina Mahfouz, with Pulse Films Marisa Clifford, Josephine Davies, and Jacob Swan Hyam producing. Pulse Films Thomas Benski & Lucas Ochoa and A-List Managements John Woolf, BMGs William Kennedy and Kathy Daum will also serve as Executive Producers on the film alongside Janaya Cowie, Wileys sister, and SBTV founder Jamal Edwards

Keshet International has bolstered its activities in the non-scripted business with the appointment of Revital Basel as Managing Director, KI Networks. Basel, who will report to COO and President of Distribution Keren Shahar, will be responsible for identifying and executing non-scripted co-developments and co-productions with third parties. She will also oversee the collaboration between Keshets international production divisions including Keshet Studios and Keshet Digital Studios in LA, Tresor Produktions in Germany, Keshet UK in London, Keshet Asia in Hong Kong, Keshet MX in Mexico City and Keshet 12 in Tel Aviv. Her appointment comes after Keshet acquired a majority stake in British non-scripted production group Greenbird Media. Shahar said, “We are thrilled Revi is joining the KI team at a time when we are committed to bringing more great stories to life for global audiences. Shes well-loved and well-respected within the industry and her diverse experience and relationships will prove invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate, with particular focus on developing our non-scripted slate via creative co-productions and co-development partnerships around the world.”
