Kym Marsh has opened up on the premature birth of her daughter Polly.

The seven-year-old was born prematurely at 33 weeks and weighed just 4lbs 1oz after a 23-hour labour.

In NHS Singalong, which airs tonight, the Corrie star can be seen introducing her daughter to their former midwife, Kath Eaton, seven years after she left the hospital as a baby.

While talking on Lorraine, the 42-year-old spoke about them meeting and confessed that she found the whole thing quite emotional.

She said: It really was and it was wonderful to see Kath with Polly because Kath hasnt seen Polly since she left the hospital now.

Of course Polly has no memory whatsoever of Kath, so explaining to Polly who Kath was… it was so lovely and a little bit emotional.

She added: You know, we all got emotional.

A clip of the programme was aired where Polly can be seen giving Kath a hug, and thanking the nurse for looking after her while she was a baby.

Kym says in front of the camera: The doctor came in and thy said shes having trouble breathing and I just panicked I couldnt even see her face properly because there were tubes everywhere.

Kath did a lot of stuff for Polly on the unit – she did a lot of stuff for Polly and she took care of me.

She then went on to describe her pregnancy, and revealed that the whole time was very touch and go.

The actress said: My whole pregnancy with Polly was very touch and go, you know, I was in and out of hospital a lot.

I was being taken care on the antenatal wards a lot. I was shown around the neonatal unit and it was very much a guessing game.

She added: But when she was born everybody just took over. And its what they do every day – thats my story think about all the other people.
