Summer is heating up in real life for sure – this heatwave is the best/worst depending on your stance. But thats nothing compared to the hot plots exploding down Emmerdale way. As Lachlan Whites murder spree steps up a gear, there is more trauma ahead for Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk.
Meanwhile, Charity tries her best to reconnect with Ryan Stocks but will she tell the Dingles who she is? Elsewhere Moira is also trying to bond with her won son, Matty Barton while Debbie fears she will lose her daughter Sarah Sugden forever.

Lachlan strikes again
Lachlan has well and truly been tipped over the line of no return and it is clear that he is capable of doing anything to keep his secrets hidden and hold onto his life with Belle. And now that he has killed con man Terry too, he has crossed another line.

But when Lachlan continues receiving anonymous texts, its clear that he has got the wrong man – and he turns his attentions to Robert and Liv. And after setting a gas leak in motion, Rebecca catches him in the act – and could be his next victim…
Emmerdales spokesperson warned Metro.co.uk: Lachlan is always just one step away from killing again – since he took Gerrys life, he has shown just how far he will go. When a chain of events see his secrets threatened with exposure once more this summer, we could see him take more drastic action but who is in danger and will he get away with it this time?
Ross hits self destruct?
Since falling victim to an acid attack, Ross has been on a path of self loathing and has made some destructive decisions that have made everything worse. Discovering that Debbie was behind the attack was another huge blow but just as it seems that Ross may be coming to terms with everything and finding ways to rebuild his life, is there more torment ahead?
Discussing his imminent exit from the show with Metro.co.uk, Mike Parr teased that its always Ross who hits the destruct button in his life – so could he be set to make another decision that will see him bow out of the village for good later this year?

Speaking about saying goodbye to Ross, producer Kate Brooks said: Michael Parr will leave Emmerdale later this year at the end of his current contract. His decision to pursue other acting opportunities has given the writing team the opportunity to create an intriguing storyline for his exit.
Moira builds bridges with Matty
Moira is doing her very best to make Matty feel welcome in the family again. As they have started to form a relationship, she is now introducing him to the village – but it may not go smoothly as Moira gets a little too defensive. And when she then has an offer for Matty, he finds himself out of his depth, with interesting results.
Speaking about the storyline, Kate said: The character of Matty certainly knows how to make an impact: cheeky, effervescent, quick-witted and headstrong, its not long before hes charmed his way into the affections of all those who meet him. His tale of a man trying to shake off his past and find acceptance in the present is full of emotion, humour and ultimately hope as he settles back into rural village life, turning Moiras world upside down in the process.
We are absolutely thrilled to have Ash on board to play this role. A skilful actor of great talent, he exudes charisma and theres an unflinching honesty to his performance that adds real depth to this complex character. Ash has already proven himself to be a brilliant addition to the cast and we look forward to charting his journey as he reconnects with old friends and forges new relationships along the way.

Can Charity and Ryan bring down DI Bails?
Its been a huge year for Charity and there are more emotional scenes as she continues to get her head around meeting up with the son she thought she had lost. As Charity decides to reach out to Ryan again, James Moore is reprising his role as the newcomer – but can they build bridges? And will Ryan help Charity to bring down Bails?
Emmerdales spokesperson teased: There is a lot to still explore between Charity and Ryan and she reaches out to him in the hope that she can get to know him – and how he will integrate with the Dingles and the rest of the village will be interesting to see.
As for Bails, Ryans DNA could be key in finally destroying him and exposing him as the monster that he is – but whether Charity and Ryan will go through with seeking justice remains to be seen. They have a lot to talk about and its going to be emotional and dramatic.
Chas and Paddys agony
Chas and Paddy are desperately trying their best to hold it together but they know they must face the inevitable tragedy of losing their baby. For now, they are defiantly sticking together but there are emotional scenes ahead that will test them to their limits.
Emmerdales spokesperson sighed: The future had finally started to look bright for Paddy and Chas but this has destroyed them. Something like this will put a strain on any relationship – Paddy and Chas need one another more than ever but this could rip them apart.

Heartbreak for Debbie as Sarah fights for life
Poor Sarah has spent her life in and out of hospitals and now she is facing a fresh battle for survival after being diagnosed with heart failure. As she and Debbie face an uncertain future, can she get through this and can Sarah get her head around the changes a condition like this will bring to her life? Sarah needs a heart and fast – whether or not she will make it remains to be seen.
Emmerdales spokesperson said: Debbie has been in this situation too many times where she is fearing that she will lose Sarah – to be enduring this new battle is devastating and terrifying for her. Are things set to get worse?
Wedding hope for Robron
Robert and Aaron fans have been patiently awaiting news on the long promised Robron wedding and soon, there will be some developments on screen as the loved up couple look to the future. As plans get underway, Ryan Hawley recently confirmed to Metro.co.uk that viewers will see on screen before too long hints towards whether this big day will go ahead. But who will propose? And will they get their dream wedding?
Emmerdales spokesperson shared: Robert and Aaron have come through a lot to get to this stage and so getting married properly this time seems like the right step to reaffirm their commitment to one another. But this is soap and Robron we are talking about – can a big day like this ever go smoothly?
A new romance for David?
David certainly messed things up with Tracy after treating her appallingly over the discoveries about her past and by sleeping with Leyla. As it seems that there is no way back for the pair, David gets close to Maya Cavanagh – but will he regret it?
Emmerdales spokesperson said: David will find himself spending more and more time with Maya and as he enjoys her company, and it has led to something else. But this can only lead to more tensions with Dr Cavanagh.
