Having already charmed us with its genteel celeb reality dramas in previous series, The Real Marigold Hotel is back on BBC One for a third series.

All of which means nine new famous faces have headed off to India to see whether they could have a more fulfilling retirement in Udaipur than they could back in the UK.

Among their number is actress Susan George.

How old is Susan George and how did her career start?

Susan is 68 years old and was born on July 26th 1950.

She has been acting since she was four years old and appeared in a string of movies and TV shows throughout the 70s and early 80s.

However she is probably best remembered for her role in controversial 1971 movie Straw Dogs, alongside Dustin Hoffman.

Susans other movie appearances include Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Up The Junction, Spring And Port Wine and The House Where Evil Dwells – while on TV shes been in the likes of Swallows And Amazons as well as Tales Of The Unexpected.

What has she done recently?

You might have seen Susan in EastEnders back in 2001 as Margaret Walker – although she hasnt been quite such a regular face on screen of late, with her last credited appearance back in 2010 short The Silence.

Away from acting Susan is also an Arabian horse breeder – with more than 20 horses on Exmoor.

Is Susan George married?

The actress was married to actor Simon MacCorkindale from 1984 until he sadly died in 2010 following a battle with cancer.

The Real Marigold Hotel continues on BBC One on Wednesday night at 9pm.
