The John Lewis Christmas advert has arrived.
Its the most talked about TV event of the year, as the decorations come down, we all go back to work, and from January through to November barely a week goes by where were not wondering what the retail giant will pull out of the bag come Christmas.
Which is why John Lewis annual yuletide offering is also the most heavily-guarded secret in the biz, with the store taking extraordinary measures to make sure even the slightest details arent leaked to the press; although, this year some Scrooge spilled all about Sir Elton Johns appearance way back in September.
This years trailer follows Sir Elton sat at his piano, reflecting on his life, as were taken back in time before we wept to Candle In The Wind, before his beef with Madonna (iconic) and even before he ever shot to fame with his first real hit, Your Song.

But while filming the advert, even the younger cast werent told they were playing the actual Rocket Man.
They didnt know who they were playing at that point, a spokesperson from John Lewis told us. We actively didnt tell them. So the younger ones were shot in isolation and we tried to keep it as secretive as possible.
We didnt quite manage it but we tried really hard.
More: Elton John
The John Lewis advert launched this morning but has been teased throughout the week, and you probably didnt have a clue.
During ITVs favourite shows yesterday, the theme tunes to the likes of This Morning and Corrie were given cheeky Elton twist to be stripped back to a piano instrumental, while John Lewis flagship store literally had the biggest clue spelled out in lights as they removed the Lewis from their front window.
The John Lewis advert will get its television debut during tonights Dark Heart from 9pm on ITV.
