It’s not too long now until I’m A Celebrity 2017 kicks off – but could this year’s series be at risk before it’s even begun?

Well according to reports it could, with suggestions that the camp could fall prey to 170mph cyclones threatening to hit Australia around the time the series is due to begin on November 19.

All of which has left show bosses concerned about the effect the extreme weather could have – with suggestions the start date could even be moved to avoid it.

‘An early start to the [cyclone] season is expected,’ an AccuWeather spokesperson told the Daily Star, ‘with a named cyclone forming before the end of December.’

That could put camp at risk of a ‘washout’, according to the weather expert – which doesn’t sound too promising.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t and we get our daily dose of jungle action from November 19.

An ITV spokesperson had no further comment to make when contacted by metro.co.uk.

This year’s series has of course been shrouded in speculation over whether Ant McPartlin will be taking up his usual stint as presenter alongside Declan Donnelly, following his recent stint in rehab for depression and alcohol abuse.

But while ITV have yet to confirm whether or not he will be back, Scarlett Moffatt – last year’s Queen of the Jungle – appears to have confirmed that both Ant and Dec will be there.

‘I was texting Dec yesterday about it. I’ve been packed for three weeks. It’s not long now. ‘The intention is [that Ant will be there]. We’ve spoken yeah. He’s doing well.
