Kezia Dugdale is set to make her entrance to the I’m A Celebrity camp tonight – but are her campmates ready for her?
The Scottish politician touched down in Australia on Tuesday and will be one of this year’s late arrivals to camp.
Kezia, 36, was spotted making her way to Croc Creek camp yesterday, heading there via helicopter and looking slightly nervous about what she was letting herself in for.
She was joined by talkRadio host Iain Lee, who is also one of this year’s late entries to the ITV show.
Kezia waved to the camera from inside her helicopter, just moments from being whisked away to the Outback.
She also posed for a number of pictures in her jungle gear, as well as one with a koala bear.
Both Kezia and Iain will arrive at the famous Croc Creek camp today to surprise their 10 new campmates.
They join current campmates boxer Amir Khan, Boris Johnson’s father Stanley Johnson, Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine, former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, Saturdays singer Vanessa White, comedienne Shappi Khorsandi, Made In Chelsea regular Georgia ‘Toff ‘ Toffolo, YouTuber Jack Maynard, WAG Rebekah Vardy and ex-England footballer Dennis Wise
Being a politician, there’s no doubt Kezia will be outspoken when she arrives in camp.
In fact, the mere fact she’s even signed up to the show has caused a ripple within the Scottish Labour party.
According to The Sun, she told the party she wanted to head on an overseas charity mission – but instead she was heading to ITV’s reality show in the jungle.
‘She didn’t go into the specifics of it being I’m A Celebrity’, a source close to the politician told the publication.
Dugdale will be giving part of her fee to charity.
She stood down as leader of the Scottish Labour party in September this year but she is still an MSP for Lothian in the Scottish Lowlands.
Her girlfriend, Scottish National party MSP Jenny Gilruth, has spoken out in defense of Dugdale after she was blasted for her decision to go on the show just as her replacement, Richard Leonard, started his role.
Jenny has been in a relationship with Dugdale since March this year.
