Roy Hodgson admits Crystal Palace will be forced to consider potential offers for Wilfried Zaha in January.

The Ivory Coast international missed the start of the season through injury but has rediscovered some of his best form in recent weeks since the former England manager’s appointment at Selhurst Park.

Zaha rejoined the Eagles on a permanent basis two-and-a-half years ago following a disappointing spell at Manchester United, who he chose to join ahead of Arsenal a year earlier.

The 25-year-old is again being linked with a move to the Gunners with recent reports suggesting Arsene Wenger had identified him as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who could yet leave when the transfer window reopens with Manchester City tipped to reignite their interest.

When asked whether he expects there to be interest in Zaha, Hodgson said: ‘He is an obvious name but there are other players, too. I would not be surprised if other players were wanted or thought could be good additions. We have to be prepared for that.

‘If offers come along for players who are doing well for us that we are not particularly anxious to lose, decisions will have to be made by the club as to what offers are to be turned down and what offers are to be accepted.’

The Eagles have won only once since Hodgson replaced Frank De Boer back in September and remain bottom of the Premier League, but with games coming up against the likes of Stoke, Brighton, West Brom and Bournemouth, the 70-year-old hopes he can get his side moving up the table.

He added: ‘The players feel the rewards for the previous five games in terms of points [Palace have drawn two and lost three] have not been matched with our performances.

‘That should give us some confidence for this run of games between now and Christmas.’
