Craig David has basically proven to us that he is one of the nicest celebs out there during a ‘fake granny’ prank on BBC’s Sounds Like Friday Night.

The I Know You singer, who is currently embarking on a pretty successful comeback, was guest hosting on Friday’s episode of the BBC live show when viewers were gifted with a hilarious clip of the singer in a pre-recorded sketch. It saw him sweetly allow an elderly woman to walk all over him and blame him for breaking an award.

Earlier in the week, Craig had been convinced that he was meeting up with host Greg James for an American themed quiz for Thanksgiving – but what he didn’t know was they had hidden a bunch of cameras in the room and that he was going to get pranked instead.

Greg made the R&B legend believe that his ‘grandmother’, also known as actress Rosemary, arrived early for a visit.

Rosemary, when left alone with Craig in the room, asked Craig ‘So what do you do?’ and Craig humbly explained what he has been up to for the last 18 years.

When describing the band he currently works with she said: ‘So they do the hard work and you do nothing really, is that it?’

Craig, being ever so sweet and not one to disrespect an elder, agreed and replied: ‘Pretty much.’

Rosemary seemed fairly unimpressed as Craig explained his Number One hits to her, and then she asked him to give her a snippet of Fill Me In.

Her response: ‘That doesn’t do me. What was your other number one? Was that one better?’

Desperate to impress her he gave her a taster of his 2000 hit 7 Days.

Singing the iconic lyrics, ‘Monday/ Took her for a drink on Tuesday/ We were making love by Wednesday’ she interrupted with ‘well that’s a bit much.’

If his ego was bruised we couldn’t tell as Craig was so sweet he even agreed to dance with Greg’s fake granny, providing an awkward moment when a runner walked in on them.

After Rosemary dropped and smashed Greg’s fake award Craig ran to her comfort before she lied and blamed Craig for the mishap.

When Greg asked what had happened, the actress said boldly: ‘Craig David dropped your award!’

A stunned Craig was left stuttering as he took the blame and even apologised for something he clearly didn’t do.

We have no idea how Craig remained so sweet throughout it all.

Viewers at home were left in hysterics and commented on how wonderful Craig was to Fake Granny.
