The Night Manager producer The Ink Factory has hired Film 4’s Tracey Josephs as Head of Production. Josephs, based in London, is one of six new hires for the firm after it secured a $180M funding boost earlier this month. Overseeing all physical production at the TV and film company, Josephs was previously Head of Production at Channel 4’s film division, where she worked on titles including Slumdog Millionaire, Twelve Years A Slave, Inbetweeners: The Movie, Carol, Ex Machina and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. She is an exec producer on Stephen Merchant’s forthcoming feature Fighting With My Family. She will be joined at Stephen and Simon Cornwell’s Ink Factory by Story Producer Alexis Hood, Development Producer Aaron Anderson, Storyworlds Producer Jo Allan, Script Executive John Rowe, Marketing Manager Amy Basil and Business Affairs Assistant Chris Patey.

Netflix has come aboard Indian feature Love Per Square Foot, marking the first time a mainstream production from India will be exclusively available to the streaming site’s members in 190 countries simultaneously. Produced by Bollywood veteran Ronnie Screwvala’s new production company RSVP, Love Per Square Foot is a quirky romantic comedy that chronicles a guy and girl who enter a marriage of convenience to buy a flat in Mumbai. Vicky Kaushal (Masaan) and Angira Dhar (Bang Baja Baarat) star with Ratna Pathak, Supriya Pathak and Raghuvir Yadav also featuring. A co-production with Still and Still Pictures, Love Per Square Foot is the feature directorial debut of Anand Tiwari. The film will bow on Netflix in early 2018.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts handed out its prizes for the BAFTA Children’s Awards last night in London with online education channel TrueTube taking Channel of the Year, the first time the category has gone to an online-only outlet. Blue Zoo Animation Studio was named Independent Production Company of the Year while SpongeBob SquarePants triumphed in the International series category and Netflix’s The Little Prince won for Feature Film.
