Donald Trump made a joke about Pocahontas while talking to Native American ‘code talkers’ who served in World War II.

The president was referring to Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren.

He said: ‘You were here long before any of us were here. Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas.’

He pauses for a laugh, but there is no laughter.

Trump adds: ‘But do you know what? I like you.’

It’s not the first time he’s thrown the racist slur at Warren, who has a self-proclaimed Native American background (though that has never been proven).

Pocahontas just stated that the Democrats, lead by the legendary Crooked Hillary Clinton, rigged the Primaries! Lets go FBI & Justice Dept.

He recently came under fire for tweeting about it.

He wrote: ‘Pocahontas just stated that the Democrats, lead by the legendary Crooked Hillary Clinton, rigged the Primaries! Lets go FBI & Justice Dept.’

He’s never really apologized for using the language.

During a Fox News in June 2016, he said: ‘I do regret calling her Pocahontas, because I think it’s a tremendous insult to Pocahontas.

‘So to Pocahontas, I would like to apologize to you.’

Warren has been attacking Trump on Twitter over the situation currently facing dreamers.

The senator wrote: ‘Let me be clear: If Trump doesn’t keep his word & Congress doesn’t pass a clean Dream Act, I won’t vote for a spending bill without it.

‘The future of 700k Dreamers as American as you & me hangs in the balance. Do your job, Mr. President. Stop playing politics & fix this.’

Trump announced earlier this year he will phase out the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

It protects young immigrants from deportation.

The program has provided nearly 800,000 young immigrants — often referred to as ‘dreamers’ — a reprieve from deportation and the ability to work legally in the US.
