Fans of I’m A Celeb are praising the show after they aired a segment which show the celebrities discussing their mental health issues openly in camp.

In a conversation that started with Stanley Johnson asking Iain Lee about his job talking to listeners on his talkRADIO show The Late Night Alternative about depression, the talk soon turned to the mental health of the celebs.

‘I’ve has suicidal thoughts in the past, I’ve been there,’ Iain said, before Rebekah added: ‘I tried it when I was younger.’

Rebekah goes on to say that it happened when she was 14, and because the issue was just ‘brushed under the carpet,’ she ended up making bad decisions in her life.

She then went on to add that her depression was at its peak after the birth of her second child, to which Stanley said: ‘I’ve heard it hits women after their second child.’

Iain questioned: ‘You dont have to answer if you don’t want to – [did you seek] therapy, medication?’

‘CBT… counselling, anti-depressants for a while,’ Rebekah answered.

Jamie Lomas then added: ‘Talking about it’s a big thing, isn’t it.’

And it’s safe to say, fans of the show were loving the frank and open discussion.

Iain continued the dialogue by saying that the way we talk about mental health has changed a lot in recently years, and hopes that for his sons, it will be easier to discuss such issues.

‘I’m not particularly proud my head went that way,’ he said, before Rebekah jumped in: ‘But it’s not a weakness.’

‘Something on the mind is a very powerful tool,’ Jamie said. ‘and if you let it run away with itself, it will do.’

Becky has been very open about her mental health issues previously, and appeared on Loose Women in October to talk about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of a family friend and her subsequent depression.
