The upcoming episode of First Dates starts with a happy occasion for restaurant owner Fred Sirieix as he heads to work to help people find love on his birthday.
In our exclusive clip Fred explains that he has kept the fact it’s his birthday a secret from his staff, but as ever with workplaces word soon gets out.
And now that everybody knows it is Fred’s special day, they’ve got a surprise planned for him – a birthday cake.
Austin explains: ‘The best thing we can do is to bake Fred a cake. You know what they say, food is the way to a man’s heart.’
As Fred walks in to work, he greets his staff who think he has no idea that they have a treat in store for him.
But Fred appears to twig that everyone is up to something, as he comments that the team are acting very strangely.
We wonder what kind of cake is going to get – if it’s even a cake they’re planning on surprising him with….
First Dates airs tonight at 10pm on Channel 4.
