Love Island star Jonny Mitchell might be dipping his toe back into the dating pool by starring in the brand new series of The Bachelor UK.

Channel 5 aired a UK version of The Bachelor back in 2013, with Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews looking for love. Spencer’s series came after rugby player Gavin Henson starred in the very first run on Channel 5.

Although neither Spence or Gavin managed to forge long-lasting relationships, the channel are reportedly having another crack at it, this time with Love Island’s Jonny.

Word is Channel 5 approached him once the ITV2 show wrapped, but when he got together with Stephanie Pratt things were put on hold.

Since splitting from Stephanie – who accused Jonny of cheating – Jonny is hoping to find Mrs Right, and after living in the Love Island villa earlier this summer he’s well used to the dating game by now.

A source told us: ‘Now Jonny is single TV bosses have seen the stir he causes and there is talk of The Bachelor coming back and him being the lead role in the show.

‘He has confidence, money and no shortage of women wanting to get with him, but he hasn’t met the right Mrs Mitchell yet. He feels The Bachelor could be a good way to meet the right match and the love of his life

‘Conversations began after Love Island but stopped when he got together with his ex, but now he is free and single the conversation has begun again.’

Jonny has previously said that he would rather stick to his other passion, trading, rather than appear on reality TV again.

He told Metro.co.uk last month: ‘I know everyone is really interested to get back on TV, but if I was going to do something it would have to be the right thing.’

Jonny has since told MailOnline that he is baffled by Stephanie’s accusations, and his fellow Love Island stars Montana Brown, Tyla Carr and Marcel Somerville have come to his defence.
