Claire Foy and Vanessa Kirby celebrated their last day filming The Crown in incredible style, by having a suitably royal disco.

The cast of Netflix’s hit series is set to change after season two, with Olivia Colman replacing Claire Foy in the role of Queen Elizabeth II as the show accelerates events to the 1970s.

It means Claire, Matt Smith and Vanessa Kirby have all now bowed out of the show, but they were granted a spectacular send-off which brought up all the emotions.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Claire said: ‘On our last day, the amazing [cinematographer] Adriano Goldman had asked all the sparks to put multi-coloured lights in all the lights around Buckingham Palace.

‘So when me and Vanessa Kirby finished it turned into a disco and everyone was like “Woooo”.’

While Matt wasn’t around to enjoy the disco, Claire revealed how she was pretty emotional on their last day filming together.

‘I’d been building up to it,’ Claire said. ‘I cried on his [Matt Smith’s] last day, but on my last day I was just like, “I need to go home now”.

‘I couldn’t feel anything. Vanessa was like bawling her eyes out so I was crying in response to her whilst feeling nothing.
