A 49-year-old British woman has died after being swept out to sea by a rip tide in Australia.
She was swimming with her family at Diggers Beach in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, this afternoon.

The family of five got into trouble when the strong current dragged them out to sea at around 5.40pm.
Other swimmers saw what was happening and helped them back to shore.
But the woman lost consciousness as her family and police tried to resuscitate her.
She was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner as police investigate the incident.
Her death comes a day after a 14-year-old boy went missing while surfing in Port Macquarie, south of Coffs Harbour, 9News reports.
