The Peaky Blinders series 4 finale has all the smouldering Tommy and Alfie tension you could want

Series four of Peaky Blinders is coming to an end (hasn’t it flown by?) and Tommy Shelby and Alfie Solomons look set to have a long-awaited showdown as the show wraps up for another year.
Tommy (Cillian Murphy) and Alfie (Tom Hardy) have been dancing around each other all series only meeting to talk about Tommy’s gin.
But the pair are set to come face to face once more in the series finale, but what’s brought them together again?
Alfie secretly met with Tommy’s arch enemy Luca Changretta as the mafia boss tried to get him on side to bring down the Shelbys so there’s a good chance that that meeting and this one are connected.
The BBC pictures from the episode show both characters squaring off on a beach looking suitably menacing. It’s a beautiful backdrop but, knowing Alfie and Tommy and their history, you can’t help but feel it’s about to be marred by something dramatic.
Whatever happens, it’s always fun to see Murphy and Hardy share scenes together. The simmering tension is almost palpable…
Elsewhere the Shelby ladies – Polly, Ada and Linda – can be seen in the toilets sharing a secretive chat.
Is Aunt Polly planning on turning against Tommy once again when he needs her the most?
Peaky Blinders airs tonight at 9pm on BBC Two.
