Jake Quickenden wants to make something clear: he is not Kem Cetinay’s best mate.
Also, he’s a teeny tiny bit scared of Love Island fans.
The former X Factor star cleared the air on tonight’s Dancing On Ice over rumours that he’s a TOTAL best friend stealer, after former Love Islander Chris Hughes posted a tweet about his best bud Kem Cetinay calling him Jake by mistake.
‘I’m in actual shock,’ Chris started his devastated tweet. ‘Kem, as in, @KemCetinay has just called me Jake, as in, @JakeQuickenden and held his hand over his mouth in shock for about 2 minutes, whilst trying to apologise.

Truly heartbreaking.
Anyway, Jake was feeling pretty fearful of not only Chris, but the wrath of the Love Island ‘shippers, so he took a moment during Dancing On Ice to ensure that everyone knows he and Kem are not best friends – just really really good friends.
‘We had a tweet from Kem’s Love Island best friend, not his Dancing On Ice best friend,’ DOI digital host Jordan Banjo said.
‘I was scared,’ Jake admitted. ‘I thought I was going to have loyal Love Island fans outside my gaff chucking bricks at it.
‘Their friendship is like this,’ Jake said, crossing his fingers. ‘Me and Kem just get on really well. I’m not getting in between them. I just wanna put that out there.’
So there you have it. Glad that’s all sorted.
Perri Shakes-Drayton is the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing on Ice, after losing out the skate off in Sunday night’s episode.
Dancing On Ice continues Sundays at 6pm on ITV1.
