Underestimate Jess Impiazzi at your peril.

Upon entering the CBB house, a few things were made abundantly clear: first, that there was a generational divide between the millennials and those in their pensioner years.

Second, that show faves had already been established.

Courtney Act was arguably branded as the strongest potential winner from the get go and as one of the most woke housemates in recent history; with Jess, Ashley James, and Malika Haqq forming a unified, bonded, and opinionated representation of 21st century women.

But as Ashley went off to feign fake feelings for Ginuwine and Malika threw a strop about not having her porridge, Jess has quietly gone about her business to establish herself as a show fave.

She doesn’t complain, which is a blessing when watching reality TV.

In truth, and much like around 50% of the contestants each year, I had no idea who Jess was.

That said, it was pretty easy to become attached to such a sweet and likeable demeanour.

And unlike pretty much every other celeb, Jess hasn’t sparked major beef with anyone, nor has she voiced controversial points of view enough to cause a major rift in the house.

Instead, she’s aligned herself with a wide variety of people and has subsequently made herself a popular figure in CBB 2018.

The younger contestants want to be her mate because she’s fun and adorably unaware at times – a feat she happily concedes and uses to her advantage, as she jokes about her lack of intellect.

The older ones appear to have a protective parental affinity.

Obviously this is a blinding strategy (if she’s playing the game that way) of staying out of the eviction spotlight and coasting to the final.

The girl next door aura is certainly working for her, and why not?

But with Jess we don’t just get a cute, funny, bubbly, and warm personality.

The 28-year-old is particularly switched on.

It’s way to easy to have pre-judged Jess based on her Ex On The Beach stints and time as a model.

Stereotyping the Londoner is a disservice to both yourself and her as a woman.

As a person working in a notoriously materialistic and ruthlessly ageist industry, she’s much more than a pretty face.

In fact, it almost feels like she plays up to the dumb, klutz-y stereotype yet will discuss politics, feminism, and women’s liberation on a whim.

Having been laughed at for claiming cucumbers contained salmonella, it turns out one in a hundred do contain traces – so perhaps she’s not as dim as everyone (especially those in the house) are making out.

And then there was the time she humiliated Dapper Laughs at the yes-no game and bossed it herself. We see you, Jess. We see you…

We’ve seen her bring up Theresa May, Brexit and gender equality and, despite her having some varying views (she did say she liked May, after all), she sticks by her opinions and that sincerity resonates with people.

Unlike a number of other housemates, Jess simply gets on with the task and doesn’t complain.

She’s a hard worker, so even when she’s (quite literally) knee-deep in a pool of muck she simply goes back in the hope of winning the challenge at hand.

Where Jess is concerned, honesty really is the best policy.

She plays to her strengths – largely the hugely likeable girl next door persona – and doesn’t rock the boat.

She’s not succumbed to any male attention and, unlike how Ashley and Malika have become less relatable over the weeks, Jess has gone in the opposite direction.

Being as inquisitive, informed, and genuine as she is, Jess should win.
