For the last few years high waisted pants and longline bras have been all the rage.
You’ll catch an occasional thong here and there, but our style preferences have shifted back in time to a more 50s look, all nipped in waists and things left to the imagination.
It’s natural that there’d be a bit of backlash to that shift. When we go high, someone goes low. What rises must fall, and all that.
So behold the hot new underwear trend taking over in Japan: super low-rise pants and bras.
Now to be clear, when we say super low-rise we bloody well mean it. Predator Rat’s underwear barely covers your bum, leaving a few inches of your crack on display.
We can’t imagine this would be at all comfortable.
We also have major concerns about needing to waddle around to prevent the underwear from slipping down to around our thighs.
Naturally super low-rise underwear needs bras to match.
Said bras cover hardly any breast and, as far as we can tell, offer absolutely zero support.
We’d rather go to an M&S and get properly fitted than have a load of underboob hanging out, no matter how trendy it may be. Think of the backache.

Despite being made of very little fabric, the underwear sets are fairly pricey. The knickers cost around £20, bras are £25, and a bikini set is available for £50.
Who would dare to wear this style on the beach is a braver person than us.
