TEL AVIV — Representatives of Palestinian terrorist groups praised Monday’s attack in Ariel in which an Israeli civilian – father of four Itamar Ben Gal from the settlement of Har Brakha – was stabbed to death.
“The attack proves once again that Israel’s steps for security have failed, as has Israel’s pursuit of the Palestinian fighters,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem told Breitbart Jerusalem. “The occupation has failed to arrest Ahmed Jerar (the perpetrator of the attack in Havat Gilad, where an Israeli civilian was killed last month) and it won’t get its hands on the perpetrator of the attack in Ariel.”
Hamas routinely refers to the entire Jewish state as “the occupation.”
According to the Hamas spokesman, “The Israeli occupation has for weeks been increasing its activities against and pursuit of the Palestinian fighters in Jenin, Nablus and the rest of the cities of the West Bank, but it won’t be able to prevent the next attack despite the huge investment of military effort.”
“It’s the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves against the factory of the settlements and Israeli aggression,” concluded Qassem without a trace of irony. “The Palestinian Authority needs to take action to provide Palestinian civilians protection and end security cooperation with Israel.”
Islamic Jihad official Ahmad Mudalal told Breitbart Jerusalem that the attack proves the Palestinian “resistance” – a euphemism for terrorism – continues to “defend” the Palestinian people.
“Israel’s military steps and all the security steps it’s taken have failed completely in the face of one fighter and there’s no doubt that the Israeli apparatus will fail when it comes to deal with all the young Palestinians who have decided to wave the flag of defense over their people,” said Mudalal. “The attack also proves that all the plans of the Palestinian Authority have failed and that the resistance is the one and only option and the most efficient tool with which to confront the scheming and the aggression of the Zionists.”
Rabah Muhana, a politburo member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, told Breitbart Jerusalem that the murderous terrorist attack highlights “resistance” as the main tool for dealing with the various plans of “surrender” he claimed are being forced on the Palestinians.
“The attack in Havat Gilad and the attack today prove that the Palestinian people oppose any political option as well as security cooperation and is only committed to resistance.”
