An epidemic is sweeping Apple and it’s not buggy technology or complaints of miserable workplace conditions at factories. Employees at the new headquarters reportedly can’t seem to stop smashing into newly installed ultra-clear glass panels.

Several staff members have reported walking into the transparent panes or witnessing someone else do so, according to Bloomberg.

The new headquarters, which opened relatively recently and is based in Cupertino, Calif., mostly consists of a massive ring-shaped office building. Inside, there are 45-foot tall panels of “safety glass” and inside those are spaces called “pods” in which employees can work insulated from other noise, reports Bloomberg.

Just like many Americans not working for a tech company, workers are often captivated by their smartphone (iPhone in this case), failing to glance up every so often to see what’s ahead. Such negligence, along with the sleek, almost all-glass design, combine to be a potent recipe for a walking disaster.

Employees have even tried to place sticky notes so people can be alerted by the vibrant colors entering their purview — much like what is often done for birds. But most have been taken down because it defeats the purpose of the design, which seems to try to evoke stylish seamlessness.

No injuries or structural damages appear to have been reported. But Apple’s deep-seated love for an aesthetically clean look seems to be contributing to literal headaches for employees.
