A billboard near the University Of Kansas may have been short lived but its message certainly packed a punch.

This week, some frustrated fans — the same ones behind the website savekffb.com — decided to take their grievances to the next level.

For a brief background, savekffb.com is a website entirely devoted to firing Kansas Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger for allowing the football team to have such an abysmal track record (they went 1-11 in the 2017 season). The students argue that Zenger gets overpaid for nearly zero results. His salary is north of $700,000 but Kansas students want their chancellor, Douglas Girod, to fire him as soon as humanly possible.

So this week, those students bought a billboard near campus with one clear message: Kansas’ football program is “incompetent” and needs an overhaul.

@nate_bukaty@bobfescoe With underdogs like @UMBC_MBB and @RamblersMBB turning it up during @marchmadness, what do you think about @KU_Football becoming a Cinderella story again? @LeBatardShow has his opinions…. #FireZengerhttps://t.co/Ilzn6V1Ny9pic.twitter.com/DB96MHo8ON

The billboard has since been taken down, with some some speculation that the Kansas Athletics Department is behind the covert removal. But either way, the sign sent its message and has received national attention. Looks like the ball is in Chancellor Girod’s court now.
