AMC is rounding out its cast forDietland, its 10-episode straight-to-series darkly comedic drama based on Sarai Walkers novel. Campbell Scott(House of Cards), Alanna Ubach (Coco, Girlfriends Guide To Divorce), Kelly Hu (Arrow), Marc Blucas (Underground), Ami Sheth (Blindspot) and Jen Ponton (30 Rock) are set in recurring roles opposite leads Julianna Margulies and Joy Nash.

Dietland, from Marti Noxon (UnReal), Skydance TV and AMC Studios, is set against the backdrop of the beauty industry. It follows Plum Kettle (Nash), an obese woman who is preparing for weight-loss surgery when her world is upturned by two rival feminist factions. Caught between old ideas and radical new extremes, Plum must decide for herself what it means to be a revolutionary as the “war of the sexes” becomes literal.

Scott plays Stanley Austen, a one-time industry titan whose influence and clout as the head of the Austen Media empire is threatened by a group of anonymous female terrorists.

Ubach is Marlowe Buchanan, a former famous sitcom star who lost her job when she returned from hiatus with a few extra pounds and her signature hair style lopped off. A fierce feminist activist and earth mother, she is one of Verena Baptists acolytes, and the author of Bangability Theory, a book about the sexualization of women.

Hu will portray Abra Austen, Stanleys wife. She is well-educated, well-mannered but a teensy bit bored and resentful of being considered Stanleys trophy wife.

Blucas is Bobby, a New York City cop who is also Dominics ex-partner and friend.

Sheth will play Sana, an artist and acolyte of Verena Baptist (Robin Weigert). Serene despite her shockingly disfigured face, she is a model of self-acceptance for Plum (Nash), who begins to understand that peace starts within and that inner peace is essential if you have to go to war.

Ponton will portray Rubi, a resident at Calliope House. She is colorful, exuberant and very opinionated.

The six join previously announced series regular Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU) as Julia, the wry, fast-talking keeper of Austen Medias beauty closet; along with Robin Weigert (Big Little Lies) as Verena Baptist, Adam Rothenberg (Ripper Street) as NYPD detective Dominic, Erin Darke (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Leeta, Rowena King (Shut Eye) as newscaster Cheryl Crane-Murphy, Will Seefried (The Deuce) as Ben and newcomers Ricardo Davila as Kittys assistant Eladio and Tramel Tillman as Plums best friend Steven.

Skydances David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross are executive producers, along with Maria Grasso of Tiny Pyro, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn of Mockingbird Pictures and Jacqueline Hoyt. Susie Fitzgerald and Ben Davis are executives in charge of production for AMC.

Scott and Blucas are repped by Paradigm Talent Agency. Hu is repped by Buchwald. Sheth is repped by Innovative Artists. Ponton is with The Mine. Tunie and Ubach are repped by Gersh.
