NFL legend Brett Favre sees a lot of himself in top draft prospect Baker Mayfield.

TMZ Sports asked the Super Bowl champion if he agreed with the comparisons, and he replied, “I do. Makes a lot plays with his legs, moving around, buying time … but mostly his enthusiasm and competitive spirit is what I see.”

I kind of agree with Favre here. I see similarities between the two, especially when it comes to the competitive spirit and their attitudes. Both of them are guys that expect to win whenever they hit the field. You need that attitude in a quarterback.

However, maybe we should pause just a little bit before smashing the comparison button between the two. Favre had one of the greatest careers in the history of the NFL. He was the definition of a gunslinger, and had arm strength rarely ever seen. The guy threw rockets all over the field.

Maybe, just maybe, we wait to see if Mayfield is good enough to win some games before we start throwing out Favre comparisons.
