President George H.W. Bush was reportedly hospitalized just hours after first lady Barbara Bushs funeral on Saturday.
WATCH:
CNN reported Monday evening that Bush was hospitalized on Sunday and put into the intensive care unit after contracting an infection that spread to his blood.
The Office of George H.W. Bush released a statement confirming that the former president was hospitalized on Sunday morning but said that he is responding to treatments and appears to be recovering.

Barbara Bush died at the age of 92 last Tuesday and was laid to rest in Texas on Saturday. Bush is currently 93 years old and has been hospitalized several times recently.
