There will be no Season 5 for Foxs The Last Man on Earth, starring Will Forte, which is being canceled after four seasons. The show is one of three comedy series canceled by Fox today, along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mick.

The Last Man on Earth quickly established a cult following but was never able to grow beyond niche appeal and over the last couple of years has often ranked as Foxs lowest-rated series.

From writer-producer Will Forte and directors/producers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, The Last Man on Earth was a comedy about the life and adventures of an average guy who inadvertently becomes humanitys last hope. After a deadly virus swept the planet in 2020, only one man was left on Earth: Tandy (fka Phil) Miller (Forte). Having searched the country in his RV for other survivors, Tandy returned to his hometown of Tucson, where, slowly but surely, a handful of other survivors found him. In Season 4, the survivors continued their sojourn through a post-virus world, setting sail toward Mexico to avoid nuclear fallout.

The Last Man On Earth was produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Forte, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Seth Cohen, Erik Durbin and Tim McAuliffe serve as executive producers.
