This would seem extremely obvious, but apparently, we all had to be reminded late Wednesday after the league adopted new anthem rules.

Thanks, FiveThirtyEight! I had no idea there are Democrats AND Republicans that enjoy football. I thought you werent allowed to watch the league if you didnt vote for Reagan and Trump. This is absolutely shocking to me. (SLIDESHOW: These Sexy Women Love Football)
Wait, does this mean that there are also Democrats and Republicans that watch college football? Im not sure I can understand all this new information Im getting. Unbelievable developments all the way around.
Okay, Ill go ahead and turn the sarcasm off now.
No kidding that people all over the political spectrum enjoy sports. Why did FiveThirtyEight feel the need to remind everybody of this fact? Why not remind everybody that both Republicans and Democrats will likely visit a dentist at some point over the course of their lives? Absurdity.
Having said that, lets be real. We all know the best football fans are Republicans because they live in areas where football is a religion. Theyre all over the South and middle America. We enjoy sports more because our noses arent shoved so I high in the sky trying to avoid the little people.
We drink Miller Lite at our games. They probably eat caviar. Ill keep it the way we have it in the better part of this country. In the meantime, Im going to now go find out if both Republicans and Democrats are likely to purchase socks at some point in their lives. Should be a fascinating discovery.
