Back in 2011, David Fincher released his crisp take on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the story of a journalist (Daniel Craig) who teams up an emo hacker named Lisbeth Salander (played by Rooney Mara). The movie was a blockbuster hit that made a cinematic icon out of Salander, a cool, but socially awkward computer genius who displays a growing flair for vigilante justice. Though talks of a sequel eventually fizzled, Sony picked up the thread again last year, casting The Crown star Claire Foy as Salander in an adaptation of The Girl in the Spiders Web.

On Thursday, a trailer for the new iteration finally arrived—and this time around, Salander is in full vigilante mode. Shes out from behind her computer screen and onto the streets, on a quest to destroy men who do very bad things to women. Where The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a slow burning thriller, The Girl in the Spiders Web appears to be full-on action, a goth Marvel-ization of the franchise based on Stieg Larssons books. Salander even has a homemade eye mask to wear, further lending to her dark superhero style.

Foy, last seen playing the posh Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, is unrecognizable as Salandar. Shes got the piercings, the choppy black haircut, the leather daddy apparel, and the Swedish accent down pat, swinging into action mode to wreak the characters very particular brand of havoc. Per the trailer, Salander has developed a reputation as a Batman of sorts, saving women from abusive men, but is now being taunted by the one woman she couldnt rescue. The film, directed by Fede Alvarez (Dont Breathe), also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Vicky Krieps, and Stephen Merchant, and is set to hit theaters on Nov. 8.
