Theres a double helping of EastEnders drama tonight for fans as we are treated to two visits to sunny Walford – and there is more agony in store for Carmel Kazemi while trouble brews between Max Branning and Rainie Cross again.
The World Cup has recently thrown our EastEnders fixes into chaos, with disappearing episodes and late night slots meaning its been easy to miss out. But tonight, football has a rest (whether or not its coming home) and allows us soapies to return to a bit of normality.
Episode one airs at the usual time of 7:30pm on BBC One while the second helping lands at 8:30pm. And the focus is heavily on the strained relationship of Max and Rainie. After that sudden kiss, Max is forced to remind Rainie about their deal.
When Rainie then picks a fight with Donna Yates and frames her for theft, Max worries that she is going to sabotage their custody chances and gives her one last warning – if she plays up like this again, the deal is off and she isnt getting a penny.

Meanwhile, Carmel Kazemi continues to struggle and blocks out the upcoming funeral of Shakil while she then gives harsh words to Keegan Baker. As Kush admits to Denise Fox that he feels his mum is letting Shakil down, an upset Carmel takes drastic action after an incident and cancels the funeral as she only wants it to be her and Shakil.
The double episode builds to a special episode on Friday which involves real life elements from families of knife crime victims, a UK soap first.
So remember, Thursday 5th July at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on BBC One. Gorrit?
