EastEnders star Zack Morris has apologised after a tweet he made back in 2014 when he was 16-years-old resurfaced. The tweet read: I carry a blade with me at all times but now the popular actor, whose character Keegan Baker is at the centre of the harrowing knife crime story that saw him and best friend Shakil Kazemi stabbed, has held his hands up and admitted it was stupid.
EastEnders last night aired an episode which saw real life relatives of knife crime victims contribute with their own stories of loss and Zack has been central to the plot as his character Keegan has been struggling with his grief and the guilt of surviving.
Discussing the tweet posted three years before he joined EastEnders, which was said during an exchange with friends, Zack apologised profusely and assured his fans that he has never carried a knife.

In a statement he said:I am so sorry to anyone that I have upset or offended, these were stupid comments I made years ago. I want people to know I have never carried a knife in my life. If I could take it back I would and I just hope that people can forgive me.

As EastEnders spokesperson declined to comment when approached by Metro.co.uk.
EastEnders special knife crime episode has been praised widely by fans who were moved by its poignancy, with many suggesting that the scenes may have saved lines by showing the full impact of knife crime.
