US clothing retailer J.Crew is catering for bodies of all shapes and sizes.

J.Crew has partnered with plus-size fashion brand Universal Standard to launch a brand new collection of dresses, skirts, tops and trousers from XXS to 5X.

The clothes are supposed to feel tailored to the body of the buyer, so that women are investing in well-fitting, comfortable and high quality basics that flatter them regardless of their size.

J.Crew x Universal Standard includes soft tees, maxi and drop waist dresses, and wide legged trousers in linen, poplin, jersey and ponte.

All the garments look like theyd be super comfortable and easily transferable from day to night.

The collections clean lines and modern shapes keep it fresh, while the ginghams and stripes add a playful twist.

The J.Crew collaboration has adopted Universal Standards unique technical approach to measuring the fit of clothing, micro-grading each garment by size and using models rather than formulas to determine how clothing with hang and move on real bodies.

J.Crews Chief Merchandising Officer Lisa Greenwald said: Thoughtful sizing and attention to fit are at the centre of our design process.

Were honoured to have partnered with Universal Standard, experts in the field, on this collection which kicks off a much larger roll out of extended sizes, new fits and fabrications across the brand.

Were on a mission to make great style available to everyone.

In the UK, plus size shoppers are still being failed by the high street. Popular stores including Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Oasis, Zara, Warehouse and Urban Outfitters dont stock clothes above a size 18. If youre bigger than a UK 18, youll also find yourself excluded from Whistles, Reiss and & Other Stories.

ASOS, Primark, New Look and River Island have more inclusive collections for plus size buyers, but theres still a long way to go.

All women, regardless of size, should be able to find stylish, comfortable garments that make them feel good.

The J.Crew x Universal Standard collaboration shows women of all shapes and sizes that they deserve to wear flattering, well-fitting clothes in quality fabrics.

The clothes definitely arent cheap, but for long-lasting basics that are tailored to suit a range of bodies, it might be an investment worth making.
