You cant make this up.

In a bizarre twist of fate, Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown has a connection to Love Island.

No, shes not one of the new contestants.

Its stranger than that: According to the baker, 23-year-old Stephanie Lam, who entered the Island last night, was once her student.

Seriously.

After the tweet went viral (as Love Island tweets are wont to), Brown added that she taught Stephanie when I was training to be a teacher.

To clarify this is a giggle- I taught Stephanie when I was training to be a teacher- shes defo not smart because of me (yes I am being sarcastic in my original tweet!) taught her a little bit of PE! Am showing support because thats nice to do ?? #girlpower https://t.co/QRHtJLaHK9

It has been revealed, in a twist the likes of which Shakespeare might admire, that the two remaining couples in the red will be thrust into yet more turmoil: one couple will be voted to stay, and the other couple will be forced to choose whether to leave together or stay in the villa and re-couple with one of the new contestants.

Four more new arrivals – Laura Crane, Stephanie Lam, Josh Mair and Paul Knops – are entering the villa tonight and with them, four new ways to stir up trouble for the remaining couples.

The plot thickens.
