Love Islands Hayley Hughes pretty much summed up the general consensus over Brexit during her stay in the villa when, like the rest of us, she admitted to having absolutely no idea what it was or what was going to happen.

Ok, so some of knew that wed still have holidays, but the 22-year-old has had the last laugh after mingling with political leaders and appearing on leading BBC current affairs programmes; from the Daily Politics to This Week.

While we couldnt imagine anything worse, Hayleys been rubbing shoulders with Nigel Farage, whos been teaching the reality star all about the process of leaving the European Union.

After the pair, easily the most unlikely friendship to come out of 2018 so far, recently headed to Brussels, theyve reunited at a Westminster pub for todays instalment of This Morning.

Love Island viewers tore into Hayley when she panicked that Brexit would mean the end of trees, but it later turned out that the Liverpudlian bombshell was right after all. Yup, feast on that, guys.

Eco-experts hailed Hayley as a green heroine for bringing the issue to the fore, stressing that there is in fact a direct threat to the future of the UKs forestry – as if we didnt have enough to worry about.

Apparently, Britain is currently relying on tree imports to aid its target of planting 11 million new trees within the next 25 years, an industry official told The Sun.

Brexit means we might miss the tree targets, which is exactly what Hayley on Love Island warned about. Maybe we should make Hayley national tree champion.

So there!

Love Island is just days away from wrapping up as Dani Dyer and Jack Finchman are still looking set to run away with the £50,000 prize fund, in what will likely be the biggest victory during the shows four year history.
