Bodyguard viewers share series 2 theories as they demand another season

The Bodyguard has ended with quite the riveting finale.
And as the fate of David Budd became known, it didnt take long for punters to demand there be a follow-up season.
Because, as weve discussed, we still have a lot of questions left unanswered by the past six episodes.
Away from that, we also are really not ready to give up on this series yet and return to normality every Sunday night.
From the script writing, to the acting and even thanking the BBC for highlighting the need to ask for help, as David Budd does just that in the finale, viewers were floored by the final episode after becoming hooked.
Theyre hungry for more. Ravenous.
Taking to social media, they clogged up the feed with requests and pleas for a continuation to Davids story.
Very gutted that Julia actually is dead and there was no big passionate reunion with David – but bloody hell, what a series!! Incredible programme that made me forget to breathe multiple times & I am now very in love with @_richardmadden. Bring on series 2?! #Bodyguard

Fantastic season finale of #Bodyguard satisfying for a show to have a logical ending to a story arc. Fingers crossed for a season 2

Many others also came up with their own theories, still not believing Julia Montague is dead (were really not sure what itll take for them to believe shes pushing up daisies).

And in the opening episode of #Bodyguard season 2, David Budd is PPO to the Prime Minister, Julia Montague (now @jed_mercurio has convinced the twitter sphere she is really dead), and the kompromat having cleared out her rivals… one said.
…his happy reunion with his wife causes tensions with his principal (who trusts no one else with her personal safety), and Longcross remains at large as his nemesis)
Julia will turn up alive in season 2 Pregnant.

Another believed they had prophesied Budds new role, should a second series be a thing.
Season 2 of Bodyguard will be Bud transferred to DEFRA where he is caught up in a conspiracy to put Union flags on Scottish strawberries. How high will it go! one said.
Hmm were a little more sceptical of that one.
Another with a rather Shakespearian sense of humour added: @Misskeeleyhawes #Bodyguard so Bodyguard season 2…. David Budd gets married again and changes his name to Capulet… Julia comes back from being secretly un-dead and they save the world together. Feel free to use @jed_mercurio.

In the meantime, we need a stiff drink, a cold shower and a long nap after dealing with that finale.
