The Apprentice 2018 is looming and the candidates have been revealed – and theres one familiar face among them for fans of Shameless.

Because Sarah Byrne, who is taking her place among the 16 hoping to win Lord Sugars investment this year, is a former star of that Channel 4 hit.

The 29-year-old from Manchester now runs a childrens acting academy – but just who did she play in Shameless, exactly?

Well those of you who watched the show might just remember her as Meena Karib – who was in the series from 2008-2009.

She later arranged a marriage with a medical student from Pakistan – and faked being her own mother to his parents to gain their approval, only to later get cold feet.

Meena remained a part of the show until series 7 when she moved to Pakistan with her mum and her boyfriend Stan.

However its not just her acting career that has earned her headlines, as Sarahs personal life has also been in the spotlight.
