Paddy and Christine McGuinness have reportedly begun filming a reality show following their lives as the parents to autistic children.

The celeb couple have five-year-old twins Leo and Penelope have the disability, and their youngest daughter Felicity has also previously shown signs of autism as well.

Since the children have been born, they have taken strides to ensure that they are not in the public eye, and when photos are posted of them online, they often shown by the back of their heads.

Opening their home for the first time, the Take Me Out star and his wife will be showing the ups and downs of life with children who have autism in a three-part special for ITV2, according to The Sun.

A source told the paper: They want to show that while they lead a glamorous lifestyle, their family is at the heart of everything they do and this is a continuation to raise awareness of the challenges that can be faced when raising autistic children.

At times they find things tough and they want to show they are just like any other parents and there are constant ups and downs.

Both Paddy and Christine have both been open with their childrens diagnosis, and have become prominent ambassadors for charities around autism awareness.

In an interview with friend John Bishop earlier this year, Paddy was seen breaking down in tears as he admitted he craved normality with his kids.

He told him: Its still very difficult for me to deal with – its still very difficult. We crave… I crave normality with my children.

Honestly John, whether they were autistic or not, I think Id like to be a parent whose not putting pressure on my kids to be a brain surgeon or a dentist, he added.

It wouldnt matter to me if they worked at Morrisons or what they did, as long as they were happy, because I was happy growing up like that.

He teared up as he added: Now I have this different thing where, the things that people take for granted….like I was out at the local supermarket and a guy was there with his son. About a four year old, and hes going “Dad, can I have a yoghurt?” and hes like “no you cant have a bloody yoghurt put it back your mums doing your tea”.

So hes like “wahhh” and the dads like “put it back” and you know… a total normal, mundane thing, and I looked at it and thought “God – that bloke is so lucky to have that”. Thats how I felt at the time.
