Amanda Holden was praised by This Morning viewers as she bravely recalled the moment she had to give birth to her stillborn baby boy.

The Britains Got Talent presenter spoke openly about the loss of her son Theo in 2011, who died in the womb at an advance stage that meant Amanda had to still give birth to him.

Holly and Phillip struggled to get through the interview as they asked her about how she came to realise that something was wrong while pregnant.

Speaking to the pair, she said: I was watching Myleene Klass on Loose Women and she was pregnant with Hero at the time, who would be around the same age as Theo, and I thought “Oh I havent felt him move in a long time.”

She then revealed that she began to panic after trying to cause the baby to move and failing, and eventually heading to hospital.

The midwife was then left to tell her that baby Theo didnt have a heartbeat- and shed have to have to the baby stillborn.

She said: Thats the thing I forgot to be honest with you. I was in the hospital and then you think “Oh my god Ive got to deliver this baby”, and its very different to a miscarriage because you often read, people say they miscarried a baby and thats an awful thing in itself.

But giving birth and having a miscarriage and giving birth is two totally different things.

After having the baby, who weighed just three pounds at birth, Amanda said that she was able to hold her son and while she was scared, was ultimately grateful for the moment.

Amanda has been opening up about the loss of her son in preparation for her new TV show, and earlier this week she admitted that she often wonders what Theo, who wouldve been seven now, would look like.

She admitted she thought Theo would look like her husband Chris Hughes and enjoy football with sisters Lexi, 12, and Hollie, six.

She told The Mirror this weekend: When the girls are playing footy I imagine Theo out there with them. One of them is in goal, the other two racing around… and I wonder what he would look like now.

Hed just be going into Year Three, so a bit taller than Hollie. And Chris was a really cute little boy so I think he would look like Daddy.

The star added: But, in reality, Theo will always be a baby in my mind. Our precious baby boy.

This Morning continues 10.30am weekdays on ITV1.
