After the director of Outlaw King branded the chatter about Chris Pines penis ridiculous after the Star Trek actor went full monty for his latest film, the star himself has weighed in on the action.

Turns out, he also finds it all a little silly, as he addressed the double standards of the palaver.

Speaking about his weens big moment in the film, in all its full-frontal glory, the 38-year-old, who plays Robert the Bruce, compared his nakedness to his co-stars, Florence Pugh.

Seems no one gives half as much a damn about her nude scenes as they do his, and he finds issue with that.

Chris reveals his thoughts on tonights Graham Norton (Picture: PA)

I bear the “full monty” and it got a lot of attention, he said on tonights episode of The Graham Norton Show. I thought the witty reviews were brilliant but what did strike me most is that Florence Pugh bares everything too and no one commented.

I am not sure what that means. Either people think they cant comment or everyone expects women to get naked. Either way, its double standards.

The scene in question, mid-way through the film, sees Chris have a quick wash in a local Loch but director David McKenzie reckons the fuss over the moment has been blown way out of proportion.

Its a man getting clean in a cold Loch – you dont do that with your clothes on. And its micro seconds, its ridiculous all the fuss about it, David told Metro.co.uk at the films UK premiere on Wednesday night.

Ignoring the naked for the minute, as Chris would like the world to do, the actor takes on quite the Scottish accent for the role – something he thought hed be crucified for as many an actor has been before be taking on a tongue that is not their native own.

But I had a wonderful voice coach and the cast were all Scottish so I figured they would pick me up on things, he added to Graham Norton. I am not a method actor, but I would keep up the accent in the pub after filming. I was entirely pretentious!
