Jude Appleton has upped and left Coronation Street after his true colours were exposed to his disgusted wife Angie – but not before trying to snatch away his son George as he fled. With Jude having been revealed as a fraud once again at the Good Samaritan award ceremony, Angie made it clear that the marriage was over.
Mary Taylor exposed the truth about Jude after she confronted him over his deceit and ended up being hit to the ground in an angry showdown. Jude was left with nowhere to turn as the truth dawned on Angie that he is incapable of telling the truth.
As Jude made plans to disappear from Coronation Street, he grabbed George and headed for the tram station. Angie and Mary were thrown into a panic when they found both Jude and George gone – and their fears grew when they found that he had left behind important items like his phone and Georges changing bag.

Roy Cropper intercepted Jude at the station and advised him to give George back and it was a close thing. Angie and Mary arrived at the station and were relieved to find George had been left behind.
But as Angie hugged her son close, Roy told a devastated Mary that it appeared Jude had gone for good.
Having only just found her son, how will Mary cope with his departure? And will she ever hear from him again?
