Coronation Street spoilers: Sally saved at Christmas as Gina exposes con man Duncan?

Gina Seddon is on the case, determined to prove her sister Sally Metcalfe innocent and liberate her from prison in Coronation Street. At the moment, things are looking pretty bleak for poor Sal as she languishes inside awaiting trial for a crime she didnt commit.

Duncan has set her up good and proper, claiming that they had been having an affair and Sally had coerced him into defrauding the council. After Sallys outburst at her plea hearing, she was remanded in custody and now Tim, along with the help of Sallys lawyer pal Paula Martin, is determined to clear her name.

The conman has fleeced ?40,000 out of her sister mayor Sally and he looks like he is up to no good again as he makes his call. Gina(Sally' sister`) is hot on his trail and sneaks up to watch him. After he has left the phone box she makes a dash and tries and checks the no he called. After scribbling the no down on her arm she attempts to ring the no find out who it is he's been callling. But who is it?Judging by her expression she knows who it is.

Given Ginas growing feelings for Tim, she is more on the fence about wanting Sally home – and that is evidenced in upcoming scenes when she has a go at Sallys efforts to campaign for better prison classes, leading the women to fall out.

But recently, Connie Hyde has been on location filming scenes which see Gina tailing a suspicious Duncan. She appears to have had a change of heart and is watching the crook carefully, waiting for him to slip up.

And slip up he does.

He makes a shifty looking call from a phone box, looking agitated. Its clear that he doesnt want the call traced to any of his own numbers so Gina watches with interest as he animatedly speaks to someone.

Once he has left the phone box, Gina then makes her way into it and finds out the number that he has called. But where will her detective skills lead her? Will she discover who Duncan is in cahoots with and confront them, gaining valuable evidence to free Sally at last?

The scenes are being filmed ahead of Christmas so fans are no doubt hoping that Sally will be home to share a turkey dinner with her relieved family. But even if Gina does have a hand in freeing her, could Sally ever forgive her for moving in on her husband?

Of course, theres every chance that Ginas efforts come to nothing and Sally is left to rot over a decisively unfestive season – only time will tell, but its bound to be a very testing time for a family already in despair.

Connie was on location with actor Nicholas Gleaves and, wrapped up warm against the biting cold in their ITV coats, the pair shared a chat and a laugh between takes.

On screen however, we reckon that Gina is going to have a few choice words for manipulative Duncan…
