Stacey Dooley found herself in hospital this week after a particularly nasty fall injured her rib – but shes coming back fighting.

The famed filmmaker has found herself flying high at the top of the leaderboard week on week, but fans feared for her seventh stint on the dancefloor after she shared a picture of herself laid up on a hospital bed.

However, during last nights It Takes Two, Stacey and her partner Kevin Clifton joined Zoe Ball where the journalist opened up about her injuries.

Last week, [my ribs were] niggling me. We think it was the lean in the tango, dont we? The repetition, she said to Kevin. Impact! Impact! Impact! Then on the Monday when were training, Ive sort of got this going on and then, bang!

I just hit Kevin and I heard it tear. I was like, Im gonna throw up. You know when you hit and you feel so bad and you feel like youre gonna [vomit] everywhere? We had new choreographers, and I was embarrassed!

She added: So, I swallowed my own [vomit]. Sorry, sorry, sorry!

In turn, Kevin has been forced to modify their routine 11 times so far – but in a sneak peek of Stacey in rehearsals, the 31-year-old was giving Beyoncé a run for her money*, despite showing off a giant black bruise on her side.

*We take it back: No one comes close to Beyoncé. We love you, Bey.

But Stacey doesnt want anyone to feel sorry for her, or give her an easy time, as she insisted: I feel like, no-one likes a sob story. No-one likes to hear Moanie Margaret.

Im just gonna go there, try and smash it, do my absolute best and whatevers meant to be will be.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One.
